The American Association of Orthodontics recommends all children receive an examination by an orthodontist by the age of 7. Early diagnosis and treatment has been shown to be beneficial to children during the ages of 6-12. Early treatment could possibly decrease the length of time of orthodontic therapy. Pediatric Dentistry
The first time our children attend the dentist it should always be an enjoyable experience. The American Association of Pediatric Dentist recommends children be examined by a dentist by the age of 1. Early detection is important for children to prevent possible future cavities. Parents are always welcome to accompany their children during their dental visits. Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) or Hospital Dentistry is available for the anxious and apprehensive young patient.
In-House Sedation
Thornton Family Dentistry and Orthodontics is pleased to offer conscious and general sedation for all patients.
We know that performing dental procedures for anxious and apprehensive patients can be very challenging.
Dr Kristopher Mendoza DDS is board certified dentist and completed post doctoral residency in dental anesthesiology at UCLA. Conscious or general anesthesia allows the anxious patient to be treated in a safe and comfortable environment under the direct supervision of Dr. Mendoza while the treating doctor is able perform the necessary dental procedures.
